Jacoba Petronella Winckelman

The 'honourable miss' - as she is called in the foreword of the book - and poetess Jacoba Petronella Winckelman was born in Vlissinge on November 8, 1696 as the youngest daughter of Jacob Winckelman, ‘Mayor of Vlissinge' and Maria Elizabeth Sterthemius. She died on August 30, 1761 and was buried in Middelburg (Zeeland).

In 1769 a book was published by Martinus de Bruyn. The first part is called "STICHTELIJKE GEDICHTEN" - the second part is called "STICHTELIJKE MENGELDICHTEN". This poetess had a great feeling for language and often used the Divine Name 'Jehova'.

For the sake of clarity, we are showing the title of the poem and the paragraph where the name can be found.
